SBI will prescribe minimum aggregate qualifying marks. There will be no minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects, according to the notification.
Important Point About Final Merit
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be added to the final merit list.
The final merit is prepared on the basis of the candidate's Main Examination aggregate marks, subject to fulfilment of other selection requirements such as the local language test where applicable.
Phase 3 – Local Language Proficiency Test
Candidates who have not studied the specified local language in Class 10 or 12 may have to appear for the Local Language Proficiency Test.

Selected Junior Associates will initially remain on probation for a minimum period of six months.

SBI Clerk Transfer Policy 2026
Candidates should understand the State-based nature of this recruitment before applying.
There is no provision for Inter-Circle Transfer or Inter-State Transfer before completion of five years of service for Junior Associates recruited through this process.
After five years, SBI may consider a transfer request only in exceptional circumstances such as an extreme compassionate ground or spouse ground, according to the Bank's applicable transfer policy.
Therefore, candidates should apply for a State where they are comfortable working for the initial period.
